Acting President, Yemi Osinbajo, has ordered for the release of funds to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) in order to offset allowances of members of the Nigerian National team.
The Vice President made the approval after a meeting with top Glass House officials last week
This is coming ahead of the Super Eagles’ crucial World Cup qualifier against Cameroon in August.
According to an NFF top official, “The NFF have the cash for the World Cup qualifiers against Cameroon thanks to the generosity of the federal government.
“The NFF also got the cash for the AFCON qualifier against South Africa and had the Eagles won, they would have been paid their win bonus immediately after the game”.
The Super Eagles top Cameroon, Zambia and Algeria in their qualifying group for the 2018 World Cup.
