Anambra state government reacts to claims that military officers were injecting students with Monkeypox virus

The Anambra state government has come out to react to allegations reportedly being pushed by some IPOB members that officers of the Nigerian military invaded some schools in the state to inject students with the new monkeypox virus.

Parents in Anambra state had, this afternoon, rushed to fetch their wards from school following reports of an alleged injection of students in the state with the monkeypox virus

Students were pictured leaving schools while some parents were also seen rushing to pick their wards from schools.

A statement released by Solo Chukwulobelu, secretary to the state government, explained that the said military officers were only carrying out free medical outreach in some schools located in Ozubulu in Ekwusigo local government area of Anyone’s state

The state government has also instructed the military to suspend the medical outreach for now until the residents of the state are fully sensitized.
