Popular Bollywood actor Shashi Kapoor, this evening, gave up the ghost at a hospital in Mumbai, India.
The 79-year-old actor whose death was confirmed by Dr. Ram Narain of the Kokilaben Hospital where he died, had suffered chronic kidney disease before his passing away on Monday
Reacting to news of the death of the popular actor, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, tweeted:
“Shashi Kapoor’s versatility could be seen in his movies as well as in theatre, which he promoted with great passion. His brilliant acting will be remembered for generations to come. Saddened by his demise. Condolences to his family and admirers.”
The good looking actor who was born into a movie family, was known for his roles in numerous Hindi movies including “Awara” (Vagabond), “Jab jab Phool Khile” (When a Flower Blossoms), and “Kabhi Kabhie” (Sometimes).
