Chidi Odinkalu disputes Magu’s N325 million Ikoyigate Whistleblower reward claims; says whistleblower’s life is in danger

Popular Human rights activist, Chidi Odinkalu has disputed the reports claiming that the Whistleblower who disclosed the location of the $1.6m Ikoyi apartment to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commision (EFCC) has been rewarded with N325 million.

The Whistleblower was reported to have, earlier in the year, led the anti graft agency to recover the sums of $43,449,947, £27,800 and N23,218,000 in an apartment located in the Ikoyi area of Lagos state

According to Odinkalu, the Whistleblower has unfortunately experienced persecution and “suffered serial detention in 3 different institutions” contrary to reports that he had been rewarded

He further stated that the Whistleblower’s life could be in danger.

Odinkalua made the claims in a series of tweets made via his twitter handle.

‘The claim by @officialEFCC chair, Magu that Ikoyi Billions #Whistleblower “is now a millionaire” is verifiably false,’ Odinkalu tweeted.

He further said, “It’s also false that @officialEFCC has bn working with Ikoyi Whistleblower. Instead, he’s suffered serial detention in 3 difft institutions”.

In another post, he said: “I know the Ikoyi Billions Whistleblower & can confirm that he’s been despicably treated; his life could be n danger.”
