World cup winners, Germany secured a 3-1 victory over 10-man Cameroon to book their place in the semifinals of the Confederations Cup.
After a goalless first half, kerem Demirbay, who was making his full international debut broke the deadlock at the early stages of the second half to give Germany the lead.
Cameroon were then reduced to 10 men after Ernest Mabouka was controversially sent off for a high tackle on Liverpool midfielder, Emre Can.
Two minutes later, Timo Werner then doubled Germany’s lead before Vincent Aboubakar pulled one back for Cameroon in the 78th minute.
Cameroon’s hopes for a comeback were dashed after Wenner scored a late goal in the 80th minute to make it 3 for Germany and a brace for him.
