One of the many positive reports that trailed Nigerian music star, Wizkid’s recent electrifying performance at the Royal Albert Hall in London claimed that the self-acclaimed star boy was the first African to sell out a show at the popular auditorium in the English capital.
The show which was packed with thousands of fans had been adjudged to be the highest ever garnered congregation of people to attend a show headlined by an African artiste.
Well, it appears that information may not be entirely true even though a tweet was sent out by Royal Albert Hall to note the historic show.
A Twitter user, Aye Dee, has come out to explain that Wizkid is not exactly the first Nigerian or African artist, to sell out a show at the magnificent auditorium
According to Mr. Dee, Sade Adu had way back in 1993 sold out the auditorium.
The Royal Albert Hall, have sent out a tweet, saying, they “may have got that wrong,” adding that Grammy Award winner, Miriam Makeba also sold-out the hall some years ago as a solo African headliner.
Anyways, take nothing from our very own Wizkid, he probably is just the first African act in recent times to have sold out a show at the Royal Albert Hall and also the first in the memory of many who did not witness the other African acts Perform at the auditorium
