Former Finance minister, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo Iweala has been handed a new appointment at the headquarters of British multinational financial firm, Standard Chartered PlC in London.
According to reports, Dr. Okonjo is to serve as a director in the Bank with her earnings fixed at £130,000 annually.
This was revealed in a statement released yesterday by the firm.
The statement noted that the appointment of Dr. Okonjo will take effect from the 1st of November, 2017.
José Viñals, Chairman of the bank, also noted in the statement, that;
“Ngozi is a globally recognised African figure. She has significant geopolitical, economic, risk and development experience and expertise at a national governmental level and in international organisations, which will provide significant insight and value to the Board.
She also has deep knowledge of Africa as well as emerging and developing markets. I am delighted to welcome her to Standard Chartered”
