Some suspected Fulani herdsmen yesterday attacked the Uvir Council Ward in Guma LGA of Benue State killing four persons after the attack.
Online reports states that the heavily armed gunmen invaded the village late Wednesday night and four persons inclusive of the community leader, Alex Mtsor, is among the victims of the blody attack
This recent killings occurred barely a month after herdsmen attacked Guma killing over 80 persons, as residents claimed their villages are under occupation of the herdsmen and are still unsafe for both villagers and security agents to visit.
Armed herdsmen attacked some villages in the local government area on January 1 and 2, leaving scores dead and many more injured.
This is even as the Inspector-General Ibrahim Idris has assured residents that Special Forces had been deployed and normalcy had returned when he toured some of the affected communities on January 13; online comments from residents in the area claim that most of the affected communities and villages remain unsafe for civilians and even security operatives.
