Arsenal forward, Alex Iwobi scored a brace as the Super Eagles of Nigeria came back from a 2-goal deficit to secure victory over an Argentina side devoid of Lionel Messi in a 4-2 friendly match played on Tuesday in Krasnodar, Russia.
Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero netted his 36th international goal to ,move clear in third place on Argentina’s all time top goal scorers list shortly after Banega had open the scoring for the South American side with a free-kick in the 28th minute .
However, a superb first half free-kick from Kelechi Iheanacho ensured the Super eagles went into halftime with the goal margin halved.
The Super Eagles took control of proceedings in the second half and were shortly rewarded with two goals in the space of three second-half minutes to go ahead in the game.
Iwobi made the best of a Kelechi Iheanacho pass to find the back of the net before debutant defender, Bryan Idowu swung the game further away from the South American team with a superb finish at the near post
With few minutes left to the end of the game, Iwobi scored his second on the day to make it 4-2 and seal the win for coach Genort Rohr’s men.
The win makes it the Super Eagle’s second ever victory over the Argentine national team with the last coming far back at the 1996 Olympics in USA
