Today marks the 30th posthumous birthday of late Nigerian rapper, Dagrin.
Dagrin, whose government name is Oaladapo Olaitan Olaonipekun, was born on the 21st of October 1987 and met his untimely death on the 22nd of April 2010 in an auto crash.
The indigenous rapper hailed from Ogun state and was known for his unique style of rapping, incorporating Yoruba pidgin and proper English in his lyrics.
In 2010, Dagrin released his “C.E.O” album which gained him wide acclaims and saw him nominated for several awards.
He went on to clinch most of the awards he was nominated for that year including the Best Album of the Year at the Nigerian Entertainment Awards as well as the Best Rap Act and Best Collaboration with vocals, amongst other awards.
A film entitled Ghetto Dreamz was released in April 2011 to celebrate the late Dagrin who passed away at at the prime age of 22.
