Mohammed Katu, counsel to embattled former boss of the presidential task force on pension reform,Abdulrasheed Maina has revealed that his client still receives salary from Government.
Katu made the statement on Thursday when he appeared before the ad hoc committee of the House of Representatives investigating Maina’s recent reinstatement, noting that the wanted Ex-pension’s boss still works as a government official
He revealed that Maina had 23 official files tabled before him to treat last month.
He added that his client only had to go into hiding because his life was being threatened.
“Maina had to disappear because of the serious threats to his life.
“Maina is still receiving salaries. 23 files were sent to him in his capacity as acting director, even while he was absent.
“Maina continued to work even after he was dismissed, ” Katu noted.
Maina who is accused of complicity in a multi-billion naira pension fraud was dismissed from the Civil Service by President Muhammadu Buhari following his controversial reinstatement last month
