President Buhari has ordered the immediate disengagement of Abdulrasheed Maina, a former Pensions tax force boss who had been declared wanted for corruption, but was last week reinstated to a higher position in the Nigerian Civil Service
The President has insisted for investigations to be carried out on the circumstances surrounding Mr. Maina’s recall to the civil service.
This was revealed in a statement by spokesperson to the President Femi Adesina, on twitter, saying President Buhari has ordered “the immediate disengagement of Mr Abdulrasheed Maina from the civil Service
President Buhari has also directed Winifred Oyo-Ita, Head of Service of the Federation to submit a report on the circumstances that led to Maina’s reinstatement, before the close of work on Mondaxy.
Mr Maina was sacked by the Federal Civil Service Commission in 2013 following a recommendation by the Office of the Head of Service on account of his involvement in a N100billion pensions fraud.
He was however, controversially, recalled to take charge of the human resources department in the Ministry of Interior
