The Nigerian Police Force has arrested a suspect who allegedly provided false information that led to the recent raid of the house of the Deputy Senate President, Senator Ike Ekweremadu.
The suspect, Mr Ahmed Echoda was on Tuesday, arraigned for allegedly providing misleading information to officers of the police force.
Mr Echoda, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Subsequently, Umar Kagarko, Magistrate preciding over the case, ordered that the suspect be remanded in Prison, until hearing on his bail application, scheduled for June 5.
The Maitama official Guest House of the Deputy Senate President, was raided by the police on friday following information received from the alleged fake whistleblower.
