Coach of the Nigerian Super Eagles, Gernot Rohr has stressed that his team will require at least six friendly matches to achieve optimum form for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
Rohr made the statement ahead of the friendly match between the Eagles and Argentina on Tuesday in Krasnodar, Russia.
The German coach who has already guided the Super Eagles to the 2018 World Cup, said;
“It’s very good we have two games to prepare our team between November and March but it is not enough,” Rohr told press ahead of Argentina friendly.
“We’ll like two games in May, two games at the start of June. We could have six games during the pre-World Cup preparation, with training sessions used as match conditions.”
Meanwhile, March 19th to 27th remains the only FIFA window for international matches before the commencement of the World Cup in 2018
